Coleman is a Lancashire native. She attended Arnold School Blackpool, where she scored straight A grades at all A-levels. In discussing her Emmerdale character, Coleman expressed regret for her decision not to go to university. At the time of her schooling, Coleman was a member of the theatre group In Yer Space with whom she acted in the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. She was awarded an award for her performance, and the show was also well-received. When she was auditioning for drama schools, Coleman was offered the role of Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale in 2005. In 2007, Coleman was awarded two Awards. For the British Soap Awards she was awarded Best Newcomer. Also, for the National Television Awards she was named the Most Popular Newcomer. In 2009, she received nominations in two areas: Best Actress and Sexiest Feminine. Coleman has been named Best Actress by the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat, the producer of Doctor Who confirmed in a 21st March 2012 press meeting that Coleman is set to play Matt Smith's castmate following the departure of Karen Gillan left. Moffat chose her for the part because she was most successful with Smith as well as speaking faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. Since 1987, she has performed in television and film projects. But she's been more well-known on TV as opposed to films. Eva's role in TV shows The Dr. Maria Santos, in All My Children, and the role of Detective Natalia Boa Vista in CSI Miami have stood out. She was nominated for two "Daytime Emmy Awards" for her first part in both shows, as well as getting a chance explore her creative side through music. Alongside being an actor, Eva is also a donor and an businesswoman. Her marriage has occurred three times and also has a daughter with her first husband.
